This morning, as I forced my aching body out of bed to make it to church and choir, I was listening to a sermon on a familiar topic: "In everything give thanks."
A familiar topic and a familiar verse, but which struck me anew.
In everything give thanks.
And I realized anew that includes days like this one, when all my bones and joints ache as a cold front has swept through Oklahoma. (And ache is an inadequate word for the pain that permeates my body.)
I'm not sure what that looks like. Only that even in this trial, which I would gladly pass on to someone else, I must seek His strength in my weakness, and glorify Him.
God is good, all the time.
Even when it doesn't seem like it.

"In everything give thanks."
I needed that reminder, very much. The weather may not be giving me aches and pains in my body, but my mind has its own aches and pains to contend with. I try to always start my day with a prayer, but there are some days it is so hard to do so. Thank you for the reminder that no matter what, we are to give thanks to our Lord for each and every day that is granted to us. No Matter What!
Blessings,
Beverly
I have Fibromyalgia and found through the pain that I must give thanks all the time, because He loves me enough to bring me through anything. Recently, I ordered calling cards (I used to have them in the 80s and thought it'd be fun to have them again. I chose 1 Thessalonians 5:18 which states, "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Our dear Lord rewards us with blessings as He draws us closer to Him in our pain. God bless you, Darlene!
