Fourth of July is upon us. I'm proud to be an American and all that.

A post on Facebook asked "how would you respond if you were given a choice--deny your faith and live? Or stay true and be killed?"

Of course I hope I won't renounce by faith. But I think that misses the point.

I don't have to know today how I would respond. I don't need the grace today to remain steadfast (although I acknowledge that today's choices will influence my later decisions.) Jesus Himself said "But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say," (Matthew 10:19)

God gives me the grace I need for today. He has brought me safely through every day this far. I trust He will whatever happens tomorrow.

So I won't worry about who wins the presidential election (even though I dislike either choice more than ever)

Whether I stay at home or go into a nursing home. . .I trust God will be with me there.

Selah.

Grace is a powerful thing. Who could truly live without it. When I encountered my heart attack, it was God's grace that saw me through. There are so many times in my life when God's grace was there in times of need.

Thank God for grace ...

Blessings,

I read 'Maple Notch Brides,' this year and so enjoyed it. I haven't been able to find another book like it, and I was hoping that it might be a series.
Since I enjoy genealogy, I was especially delighted that you wrote about three generations of the same families and how events affected them. Have you written any books like it?
I noticed that your book, 'Prodigal Patriot' is about the same family. Is it different from 'Maple Notch Brides,' or is it the first story in the trilogy?
Anyway, I think you are a wonderful writer, and I appreciate your book very much. Thank you for writing it.

Anonymous, thanks for stopping by!

You are right. Prodigal Patriot is the first book in Maple Notch Brides (the 3 books in Brides were originally published as stand alones)

Since you like generational stories, try Texas Trails published by RiverNorth Fiction. together with two other authors, we wrote a six book series about the Morgan family in Texas, 1845-1896.

And since you're a fan of Maple Notch Brides, you'll be pleased to know that three more stories about the Tuttle family will be coming next year! They feature Daniel and Clara's grandchildren, and take place in 1927, 1930, and 1942.
